Alexandre Pato's switch to Chelsea is on the verge of completion following the Brazilian's arrival in London on Wednesday.

The former AC Milan forward has been linked with a move to the defending Premier League champions since the winter window opened.

His six-month loan move from Brazilian side Sao Paolo to Chelsea is close to being finalised after he was spotted at London's Heathrow Airport and spoke about his impending move to the Blues.

"I'm so happy," Pato told Sky Sports News HQ. "It is my dream to play here. Chelsea is my new home and I thank Chelsea for their support and thank you to my fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for following me.

"I need to play. I don't know what else to say because I am just so happy to be here. I want to get to know my new teammates and the players here and I really want to play for Chelsea."

Chelsea has yet to make the loan deal official as Pato will likely undergo a medical before an announcement is made.
