The 31-year-old has a history of cardiac issues. He underwent three ablation procedures to deal with accelerated heartbeats during his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens.
He has not, however, been hindered by those problems since his last procedure in February 2011.
Gustavsson allowed two goals on 16 shots through the first 20 minutes of the game.
