Sporting Gijon snaps up Ognjen Vranjes on a free transfer

Sporting Gijon manager Abelardo Fernandez has bolstered his ranks at the back with the signing of Bosnian international Ognjen Vranjes following his release from Gaziantepspor in Turkey on Monday.

Vranjes is adept at playing both at centre-back and on the right-hand side of defence, so he will offer competition across much of the defence in the club's bid for La Liga survival.
The Rojiblancos sit 19th in the table and one point adrift of safety ahead of a trip to Valencia on Sunday.
