Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose won't return to Monday's game at the United Center against the Miami Heat due to injuries to both his lower back and right hamstring, the team announced.

Backup Aaron Brooks started the second half in his place. He's the only guard head coach Fred Hoiberg has left to run his offense following Rose's departure, with Kirk Hinrich also sidelined with a bad quad.

Rose finished with four points and one assist on 2-of-6 shooting in 13 minutes as Chicago trailed 49-47 at halftime.

His right hamstring is the most pressing concern for the Bulls, as Rose has already missed time this season due to soreness in that area. Then again, any injury affecting the former league MVP should be taken seriously, considering he's sat out 230 games over the past four campaigns.

In 37 appearances this season, Rose is averaging a career-low 15.6 points on 40.7 percent shooting.
