Cabot plays hero as Troyes does the unthinkable: wins 1st match of season

The eight Troyes fans that travelled to the northeast for Saturday's match against Lille did not leave disappointed, as the Ligue 1 bottom-dweller did something it hasn't done yet this year: win a league match.

After trailing for the majority of the contest courtesy of a 25th-minute Sofiane Boufal penalty, young midfielder Jimmy Cabot decided to play the hero, scoring two goals three minutes apart before Jessy Pi cemented the result five minutes from time.

Cabot's first was a precise effort that just snuck inside of Vincent Enyeama's post in the 77th minute.

It was Cabot's second that deserves all the praise, though, as the 21-year-old winger fired home a hammering right-footed volley thanks to an incisive pass from Babacar Gueye, who also notched the assist on the first goal.

The 2014-15 Ligue 2 champs are still destined to return to the second flight - sitting last on 11 points, nine points adrift of an idle Toulouse side - though that will do little to cloud what amounts to the highlight of an otherwise disastrous campaign for Claude Robin and his squad.
