Report: Some Cavs players thought Kevin Love was being traded
When the Cleveland Cavaliers called Friday's team meeting to announce the dismissal of head coach David Blatt, some players thought they were being summoned because Kevin Love had been traded, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
A three-time All-Star on subpar teams with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Love has struggled to fit his game in with the Cavs since arriving via trade in 2014. The power forward, often a defensive liability, has seen his field-goal percentage sink to less than 43 percent in two seasons in Cleveland. However, he re-signed with the Cavaliers last summer on a multi-year deal in hopes of chasing a championship with LeBron James and company.
While the Cavs sit atop the Eastern Conference with a 30-11 record going into the weekend, most agree they haven't reached their full potential, both in terms of Love and elsewhere.
