Oregon State's Seth Collins to transfer

Scott Olmos-USA TODAY Sports

After one season, Oregon State quarterback Seth Collins is set to transfer out of the program, the team announced Friday.

"I thank Oregon State for a great year," Collins said. "But it is in my best interest to pursue my education and football somewhere else."

Collins showed flashes of his talents as a freshman in 2015, but injuries caused him to miss four games on a Beavers team that finished 2-10, and had the 110th ranked offense.

With Collins leaving, it looks as though fellow freshman Marcus McMaryion will be under center for the Beavers in 2016.

In eight games during his first collegiate season, Collins threw for 935 yards and six touchdowns, while adding 575 yards and eight scores on the ground.
