McGregor annoyed after belt left off 'garbage' UFC 197 poster

Conor McGregor isn't impressed by the promotional efforts thus far for UFC 197.

UFC president Dana White opened up Wednesday's press conference for the March 5 event by reminding everyone there will be "two fights, three belts" on the line. Holly Holm was there with her women's bantamweight belt and lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos also brought his prized accessory.

So, when McGregor arrived late to find his featherweight title nowhere to be seen, neither on stage nor on the poster, he wasn't pleased.

"This is a superfight. I look upon the poster, I see myself tucked in the back there. That's what I just noticed. Where is my damn belt?" McGregor asked, according to Anton Tabuena of BloodyElbow.com. "Where are all these historic images? These are posters that will be looked back on long after it's all said and done and you've got to look back on that absolute garbage.

"I think I might have to go into that department because they must be getting comfortable in that poster department. They wanna get their act together and start doing their damn job."

McGregor was also aggravated that Dos Anjos was placed in front of him on the poster. He decried Dos Anjos as a "free TV" fighter who "never brought a dime to the company."

"I made this fight. I made everything that had to do with this," McGregor said. "I put him that seat. I tell him what to do. You're here because I put you there."

White's explanation was that only Dos Anjos' lightweight title is on the line, so only one belt had to be present.

However, when the UFC booked a superfight between welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and lightweight champion B.J. Penn in 2009, both men had their belts prominently featured:
