The days of "Showtime" basketball at the Staples Center - with the likes of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Cooper, and Byron Scott at the helm - are a thing of the past, with this generation's Los Angeles Lakers acting as more of a whipping boy than a must-see attraction.
There are times, though, when fans are treated to that run-and-gun style that became a hallmark of the franchise during the '80s. Unfortunately, that uptempo play usually comes from the opposition.
With the Sacramento Kings in town on Wednesday night, Rajon Rondo and Rudy Gay provided the live crowd a little "Showtime" flare with this gorgeous alley-oop in transition:
