Report: Manchester United considering bid for PSG's Cavani

Reuters

Manchester United is considering a move that would strengthen the team's attacking unit with reports suggesting the Premier League side is considering a move for Paris Saint-Germian forward Edinson Cavani.

ESPNFC reports that the Uruguayan striker is eager for a move to Old Trafford and that Cavani's representatives approached United about a possible transfer.

Interest in Cavani comes more than two years after former manager David Moyes expressed an interest in procuring his services.

A move for the 30-year-old may also be inspired by recent comments made by PSG manager Laurent Blanc after Cavani admitted he was not concerned about Cavani's frustration over being deployed out wide.

Cavani's behavioural issues haven't seemed to impact his success in front of goal. Through 17 appearances, Cavani has managed to bulge the back of the net 10 times to bring his goal total to 13 in all competitions.

Despite his frustration, and PSG's possible willingness to sell, United will likely have to pay somewhere in the region of £37-41 million to secure his services, according to Swiss-based CIES Football Observatory.
