Report: West Ham makes approach for Fenerbahce's Emenike
West Ham is hoping to land Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike on a loan deal, according to Paul Vinnell of Sky Sports.
The Hammers have submitted a bid for the 28-year-old Nigerian, who is currently on loan with Dubai outfit Al Ain. They would require the agreement of both his current club and parent side Fenerbahce for the move to happen.
Emenike would fit the profile of the signing co-owner David Sullivan teased in an interview on Tuesday, when he said his club was looking to bring in a forward from a "strange" league within the next seven days.
"We are looking, long term, for a 20-goal-a-season striker," Sullivan said. "There's the possibility that a striker will come in on loan, with the option to buy, within the next seven days. He's an overseas striker."
Emenike has scored seven goals in 11 league appearances for Al Ain this season. He has not played in any of Europe's top five domestic competitions or reached 20 league goals before in his career.
