Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka has confessed it's "a childhood dream" to ply his trade in the Premier League, but admits rumours of a move in January are "only speculation."

The Swiss international is reportedly a target for Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as fellow Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich, but it doesn't appear that a bid has been submitted to Die Fohlen yet.

"I read about those things (speculated moves), sure, and overhear a lot of things, but it's only speculation. I am not interested in it," Xhaka told fanzine Tor Fabrik, according to ESPN FC.

"If there was something or the club had something (an offer), then we'd sit down. But currently there is nothing. I am under contract until 2019, feel great here, and I am happy. That's the state of things."

He did reveal his admiration for the English top tier, but recognises it could be an opportunity he has to wait for.

"I have a childhood dream, and that is the Premier League," Xhaka said. "No matter if I play a second or 100 matches in England, I would one day love to fulfill that childhood dream."

Xhaka dons the No. 34 shirt at Gladbach and has gained an attachment to it, so joked that he has already been in contract with Francis Coquelin - Arsenal's No. 34 - to ensure he would vacate it should he arrive in North London.

"Yeah, I already he talked to him," Xhaka said. "He'd take another number."

Xhaka received his third red card of the campaign before half-time of his last outing, but his side still engineered an impressive 3-2 win over Darmstadt.
