DJ LeMahieu is taking lineup protection to a whole new level.
On Tuesday, the Colorado Rockies second baseman was driving behind leadoff hitter Charlie Blackmon on the highway when his teammate ran out of gas and pulled over to the side of the road.
Like the supportive teammate he is, LeMahieu took a picture of Blackmon's embarrassing predicament and shared it with his followers on Twitter:
Perhaps Tuesday's mishap will fuel another career year from the pair, after each posted personal bests in extra-base hits, steals, OPS, and wins above replacement in 2015.
