Josh Donaldson's scouting report probably reads more like a hockey player than an elite third baseman: a gritty competitor with soft hands and huge calf muscles. It makes sense, then, that the Toronto Blue Jays superstar is surrounding himself with like-minded individuals.

Donaldson was in Florida on Saturday for the Diamond Resorts Invitational golf event, and he spent at least part of his evening partying with the ultra-competitive and former five-time NHL All-Star Jeremy Roenick. Donaldson shared the photo on Twitter shortly after midnight, perhaps indicating he was there to ring in Roenick's 46th birthday.

Donaldson also has plenty of reasons to celebrate these days, and particularly the weeks ahead. He's in line to secure a record-breaking salary for a second-time arbitration-eligible position player after exchanging figures with the Blue Jays on Friday.

The two sides were unable to reach an agreement prior to Friday's deadline, which means they're likely heading for an arbitration hearing to determine Donaldson's salary for next season. He filed at $11.8 million and the club submitted a figure of $11.35 million.
