Just days after ESPN announced that Jessica Mendoza will stay permanently on ''Sunday Night Baseball,'' FOX officially picked up a pilot that features another female making history in America's national pastime.
"Pitch" stars Kylie Bunbury in an hour-long drama about the first woman to play in the majors, according to Lesley Goldberg of The Hollywood Reporter.
"I can't tell you how humbled and thankful I am for all the support and love," Bunbury tweeted Friday. "I'm working hard and I won't let you down."
No woman has ever reached the majors, though Mo'ne Davis created much fanfare when she became the first girl to earn a win and pitch a shutout in the 2014 Little League World Series.
