Redknapp believes Red Devils can win Premier League ... if they sign Gareth Bale

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp says Manchester United can still challenge for the Premier League title ... should they sign Gareth Bale in the January transfer window.

Bale, who netted three times for Real Madrid in a 5-0 win over la Coruna, was tipped for an exit out of the Santiago Bernabeu while Rafa Benitez was in charge, but under new manager Zinedine Zidane, his stay seems more assured.

"Gareth Bale is in the top four or five players in the world," Redknapp told BBC Radio 5, as quoted by ITV. "He is an amazing talent. If Manchester United took him they could come close to winning the title this year. He can make that much difference."

While Bale was scoring for fun, over in England, the Red Devils put on yet another bleak performance, barely scraping by lower-division side Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

With Bale in the team, Redknapp believes those kinds of performances would become a thing of the past.

"Bale is a match-winner," Redknapp said. "He scores goals and he can make goals. He could go and get them 16 goals or 17 goals from now until the end of the season if he went on a run and he could turn the club around. He would be an incredible signing."
