Stuttgart signs winger Kevin Grosskreutz from Galatasaray
One of the January transfer window's worst-kept secrets was officially revealed Wednesday, as Stuttgart announced the €2 million signing of former Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz from Galatasaray.
The 27-year-old winger will be chomping at the bit in anticipation of his return to Bundesliga football since a disastrous summer transfer deadline deal to the Istanbul giants dissolved in the final minutes, relegating the five-time capped German international to a spell of inactivity.
"The Bundesliga is next to the Premier League as the strongest leagues worldwide. The anticipation to achieve our common goals with VfB is huge," Grosskreutz told the club's official website Wednesday.
"I am looking forward to my new job and getting to know the entire team."
Twice Bundesliga champion while at the Westfalenstadion, Grosskreutz brings more than 200 German top-flight appearances with him to Die Roten.
