Oregon State names Kevin Clune defensive coordinator

Former Utah State defensive coordinator Kevin Clune has been hired at Oregon State for the same position.

Clune will replace Kalani Sitake, who left the Beavers in December for the head coaching position at BYU.

Head coach Gary Andersen finds a familiar face in Clune, as the two have worked together at Utah, Utah State, and Southern Utah.

"Coach Clune has been with me a number of years and I'm excited that he will once again be on my coaching staff," Andersen said Thursday. "He is a proven recruiter, tactician, and shares our philosophy about developing and changing the lives of student-athletes."

Oregon State endured a dreadful 2-10 season, and ranked 116th in total defense. Clune will be expected to immediately help the cause, as he commanded the Aggies to the 17th-ranked defense in 2015.
