MADRID - Former NBA star Steve Nash and Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver have bought a controlling share of Spanish soccer team Real Mallorca.

The Mediterranean island club announced Monday that Sarver's company, also owned by Nash and Andy Kohlberg, has bought shares worth more than 20 million euros ($21 million).

Mallorca won the 2002-03 Copa del Rey title and has played for 16 consecutive seasons in Spain's top league before being relegated to the second division in 2013.
