Report: Angers' Abdoul Camara set for Derby County move
Sitting pretty in third place, Ligue 1 darlings Angers is poised to make another festive move, with attacking midfielder/forward Abdoul Camara set to make an English Championship pilgrimage to join Paul Clement's ranks at Derby County.
The busiest French top-flight side during the infantile stages of the freshly opened January transfer window, Angers has already made four moves, with the 25-year-old Guinean international preparing to be the fifth, according to a report from L'Equipe.
Camara will join former Angers teammate Jonathan Kodjia with the Rams, who currently sit second in the Championship table, four points adrift of league leaders Middlesbrough.
"Camara should be the last departure," Angers boss Stephane Moulin told reporters when confirming the left winger had begun negotiations for a £1.23-million move with the East Midlands side, with a medical scheduled for Monday evening.
The pacey attacker has started 17 Ligue 1 matches for Moulin's side this season, scoring two goals for the upstart minnows that sit one point shy of third-place Monaco.
