Wild Card Running Back Value Rankings
Here are theScore's running back value rankings for Wild Card Weekend:
Value Rankings
QB | RB | WR | TE
Top Options
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Marshawn Lynch (SEA) | at MIN | 7 |
| Eddie Lacy (GB) | at WAS | 7 |
It's an unbearably bad week for running backs, which is why this list is topped by a guy who hasn't played since Week 10, and a guy who has had three good games all season. If Lynch returns from a sports hernia, he should see enough volume to return value. Lacy has a plus matchup in Washington.
Best of the Rest
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Alfred Blue (HOU) | vs. KC | 6 |
| Adrian Peterson (MIN) | vs. SEA | 5 |
Blue is a solid floor play thanks to workload, but his ceiling will be low against an impressive Kansas City run defense. Peterson managed just 24 yards on 12 touches in a Week 13 meeting with Seattle, and will be hard pressed to return value on his salary.
Nothing to See Here
| NAME | OPPONENT | VALUE |
|---|---|---|
| Charcandrick West (KC) | at HOU | 4 |
| Giovani Bernard (CIN) | vs. PIT | 3 |
| Alfred Morris (WAS) | vs. GB | 3 |
| Fitzgerald Toussaint (PIT) | at CIN | 2 |
| Jeremy Hill (CIN) | vs. PIT | 2 |
| Spencer Ware (KC) | at HOU | 2 |
| Christine Michael (SEA) | at MIN | 2 |
| Jerick McKinnon (MIN) | vs. SEA | 1 |
| James Starks (GB) | at WAS | 1 |
West should struggle mightily against a vastly improved Houston run defense. Neither Bengals running back is an advisable play against the Steelers, while Morris is a boom-or-bust option versus visiting Green Bay. Ware, Michael, McKinnon and Starks will only have value if a starter gets hurt.
