Cowboys' Lee out vs. Redskins, costing him $2M bonus
Tim Heitman / USA TODAY Sports
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee is inactive for Sunday's season finale against the Washington Redskins due to a hamstring injury.
By not playing, Lee stands to lose out on $2 million. As Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News explains, Lee's base salary increases from $3 million to $5 million in 2016 if he plays 80 percent or more of the Cowboys' defensive snaps this season.
Lee had 128 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and an interception in 14 games, including a 15-tackle performance against the Buffalo Bills in Week 16.
Also inactive for the Cowboys are cornerback Morris Claiborne, left guard La'el Collins, offensive tackle Chaz Green, wide receivers Rodney Smith and Vince Mayle, and quarterback Jameill Showers.
