NFL players weigh in on Christian McCaffrey's epic Rose Bowl

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Trending on Twitter for athletic excellence is today's version of getting your name in the paper, and Stanford's Christian McCaffrey's name was all over on Friday.

The Heisman Trophy finalist capped a record-breaking 2015 season by snapping multiple Rose Bowl records as the Cardinal beat Iowa, and the NFL world has definitely taken notice.

McCaffrey became the first player in Rose Bowl history with 100 yards receiving and 100 yards rushing, while also breaking the all-purpose yards record of 346 set by Wisconsin's Jared Abbrederis.

While the son of former Denver Broncos great Ed McCaffrey isn't eligible for the NFL draft until 2017, judging by some current players' reactions on Twitter, he's definitely on the league's radar.

Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins weighed in.

Former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints was also impressed.

It didn't stop there:

Athletes from other sports took notice as well, including the always funny Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy.

Pretty impressive day for the 19-year-old sophomore.
