Marcus Morris slams Suns, defends twin Markieff

To no one's surprise, Detroit Pistons forward Marcus Morris has nothing but bad things to say about the meltdown in Phoenix.

Not only did the Suns suspend and bench his brother, Markieff, they separated the twins in an offseason trade that sparked a bitter riff between the Morrises and management.

Now that Phoenix is in a tailspin, Marcus relished the opportunity to slam his former club.

"I don't know what's going on over there," Morris told Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press. "It's like a (clown) show right now."

The Suns are mired in a six-game losing streak, and dropped 18 of their last 23 contests. They were defeated by the lowly Philadelphia 76ers last week, and heads have begun to roll.

There's an ever-growing laundry list of problems ailing the Suns, but central to their struggles is the disgruntled play of Markieff. He's toiling through his worst season since his rookie year and he's drawn a string of DNP-CDs after serving as the team's starting power forward for 82 games a season ago.

Marcus revealed that Markieff's still trying to claw his way out of Phoenix, even after taking back the trade demands he issued in the offseason.

"One thing about Keef is he's always positive," Marcus said. "Some stuff might happen a little, but he's always positive. He's still looking to get out of there, still looking to go somewhere else. Right now he has to be a pro and continue to take care of his business on and off the court."

A clown show, indeed.
