Colts lock up Pagano, Grigson for next 4 years

The Indianapolis Colts have signed head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson to contract extensions.

Pagano agreed to a four-year deal, as originally reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, while owner Jim Irsay said Grigson would be "contractually tied" to Pagano - the implication being that he'll have a three-year extension added to the one year remaining on his contract.

With Pagano's contract expiring following the 2015 season, many expected the Colts to move on from their embattled head coach after a disappointing 8-8 season.

Though 2015 was a relative disaster, Pagano hasn't had a losing season during his four years as the Colts' head coach. Prior to 2015, the team improved every year, culminating with a trip to the AFC Championship Game last season.

Both Pagano and Grigson put to rest rumors of a power struggle between them.

"We agree to disagree ..." Pagano said during Monday's press conference. "But we leave every meeting with a handshake and a hug."
