Report: Arsenal's Mathieu Debuchy looking for January loan

Frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities in light of the emergence of Hector Bellerin, fellow left-back Mathieu Debuchy's tenure at the Emirates may have hit a snag.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already said the Londoners could be busy when the January transfer window opens, with Debuchy likely being the one player outgoing, according to the Mirror's John Cross.

"It's not impossible," Wenger said, when asked if the 30-year-old French international may leave in January, adding, "I'm happy if he stays, but we'll see."

A typically ambiguous and nebulous comment from Wenger may pique the interest of several European clubs, with reports suggesting Roma, Lyon, and Monaco are all curious about the status of the former Newcastle full-back.

With one eye on the second half of this season and one on next summer's Euro 2016 tournament in his homeland, Debuchy is looking for first-team action in order to reserve a spot in Didier Deschamps' squad.

Debuchy has appeared in only two Premier League matches this season paired with two starts in both the Champions League and Arsenal's short-lived League Cup campaign.
