Nate Diaz believes there's only one big-money match for the UFC to make, and he better be in it.

An entertaining win against Michael Johnson already had the MMA world buzzing, but it was Diaz's too-hot-for-TV challenge of Conor McGregor that broke the Internet. Prior to the UFC on FOX 17 postfight press conference, a calmer Diaz offered more words for the UFC and its featherweight champion.

"I want fights that people want to see, not fights because 'It's time for you to fight because that's what we think.' No, it's not," Diaz said to Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com. "I've been fighting enough. I want a fight that's worth my while, worth his while, let's get our fight on. I don't care if it's all good or not all good. When we fight we're gonna fight, 'for real' fight. He thinks he's the ninja, I'm the ninja, 'Ninja Gaiden,' 'American Ninja,' real motherfuckin' ninja, this ninja martial artist right here. I started that shit.

"Irish ninja, represent your shit, homeboy. I'm right here. United States. We could bring that shit on."

Diaz said he had a brief conversation with UFC matchmaker Joe Silva that reassured him of his status as a front-runner for a McGregor fight.

"He said 'It's on.' He said 'We're gonna do this,'" Diaz said. "Hell yeah they want it, everybody wants that fight. What are they going to do? (points to where Rafael dos Anjos is sitting) He said he'd fight Dos Anjos too, you ain't heard a word out of him. (Dos Anjos) don't want that fight neither. If people want to see a real fight, they know who to call."
