The Cleveland Cavaliers rejoiced after snapping the Oklahoma City Thunder's six-game winning streak Thursday, but it wasn't all fun and games for everyone in attendance.

While diving for a loose ball, LeBron James wasn't able to catch his balance in time and crashed hard into PGA golfer Jason Day's wife, Ellie Day, who was seated courtside. She had to leave the game on a stretcher.

James took to Twitter postgame to apologize to Day:

Ellie Day spent Thursday night in hospital for precautionary reasons, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst and Dave McMenamin, but James was told that she was in good shape after the collision.

"The guys told us she's doing great now," LeBron said. "So, but you know, I was going for a loose ball. Just trying to keep the possession going, and I hate that that was the end result of it."

The incident was a product of fans sitting so close to the action, James said, and he maintains that courtside seats are a big attraction for NBA supporters.

"I think it's a great experience for our fans. I mean, that doesn't happen much," James said. "It's unfortunate it happened tonight, but that doesn't happen much. Our fans are why our game is so great. Sitting courtside, it's all part of the game. It's pretty cool. If I was a fan, which I am a fan of the game, but, I would love to sit courtside and watch games."
