VIDEOS: Top 3 finishes of Junior dos Santos' career
Junior dos Santos hits like a freight train filled with dynamite and loose matches.
The former UFC heavyweight champion's resume is littered with elite fighters who decided to test his ability to add fist to face, and most of those opponents were treated to a violent, no-expenses-paid trip to the canvas.
In anticipation of dos Santos' upcoming bout with fellow chin-destroyer Alistair Overeem at UFC on FOX 17, we're counting down the three best finishes of "Cigano's" career.
Denting Hunt's iron chin
Known for his legendary chin, Mark Hunt's destruction at the hands of dos Santos was more a culmination of brutal punishment than a one-shot kill.
After nearly three rounds of treating "The Super Samoan" like a sentient heavy bag at UFC 160, dos Santos finally put the cherry on top of a dominant performance by using a spectacular spinning hook kick to fell the resilient Hunt like a redwood.
Smashing debut
A somewhat unheralded heavyweight making his Octagon debut against a seasoned veteran in Fabricio Werdum at UFC 90, dos Santos sent "Vai Cavalo" packing to Strikeforce with a massive uppercut and a few finishing nails on the floor.
The loss may have actually been the best thing for Werdum's career. The former ADCC grappling champion eventually rounded out his game and has gone on a 9-1 run since his loss to dos Santos, capturing the UFC heavyweight title in the process.
Pasting the champion
During the UFC's first event on the flagship FOX network, dos Santos introduced his devastating brand of power to a wider audience when he used a clubbing right hand and some hellacious ground-and-pound to relieve Cain Velasquez of the heavyweight title.
Dos Santos would go on to lose the rematch and rubber match to Velasquez, but that will never erase the vicious overhand right that briefly vaulted him to the top of the heavyweight mountain.
