Ole Miss star Robert Nkemdiche has been charged with marijuana possession, Atlanta police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Monday.

Nkemdiche was taken to hospital Saturday night after falling from a window at an Atlanta hotel. He suffered minor injuries.

The police report said "approximately seven rolled marijuana cigarettes" were found in his hotel room.

Authorities believe the defensive tackle broke the window in his room and walked a short distance before he fell approximately 15 feet.

Rebels head coach Hugh Freeze said that Nkemdiche's status for the Sugar Bowl is up in the air.

"There's no cut-and-dry answer," Freeze told Daniel Paulling of The Clarion-Ledger.

Nkemdiche entered the season as a top-five lock in the 2016 NFL Draft, but his recent issues could push him down the board.
