Jeff Skinner is back.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward scored three goals in a 5-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday, recording his third career hat trick and his sixth goal in his past four games.

The third goal came into an empty net, while his nicest of the evening may have been his first.

The outburst puts Skinner on pace to score 30-plus goals (11 in 29 games to date), a mark he's hit three times in the previous five years, but one he fell well short of last season while dealing with recurring concussion issues.

At the other end of the ice, Eddie Lack stopped 31 of 32 shots for his best performance in a Hurricanes uniform.
