Hoffman back on Senators' top line at practice
Though Ottawa Senators coach Dave Cameron spurred on a comeback win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday using rather odd late-game methods, that doesn't mean they weren't called into question.
Mike Hoffman, the hottest player on one of hockey's hottest trios, was dropped from Cameron's top unit in favor of stay-at-home defenseman Mark Borowiecki for a large portion of the third period.
Hoffman, almost begrudgingly at the time, scored the eventual game-winner on one of his few shifts in the third.
On Wednesday at practice, he was back flanking Kyle Turris and Bobby Ryan on the top unit.
Hoffman admitted that he was frustrated with the decision at the time but understood the rationale. Cameron, on the other hand, took his time with reporters to continue defending it.
"Is there a line in the NHL that stays together for 82 games? I don't think so. Why is moving Hoffman around such a topic?" - D. Cameron
