Clemson's Dabo Swinney captures Coach of the Year
It's been a good week to be a Clemson Tiger.
Just days after the school captured the ACC title, took the No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playoff, and saw Deshaun Watson announced as a Heisman finalist, Dabo Swinney has been named Coach of the Year.
The Tigers finished the campaign as the only undefeated team in the nation, posting a 13-0 record on their way to the school's second conference crown in Swinney's eight seasons. A New Year's Eve CFP semifinal matchup against No. 4 Oklahoma awaits Clemson, with a berth in the national championship on the line.
Under Swinney's leadership, Clemson defeated three top-25 teams and earned the top spot in every single edition of the CFP rankings for the season. The Tigers currently own the longest active winning streak in the country at 16 games.
The 46-year-old will receive the honor Dec. 10 at the College Football Awards.
