Henry, Watson, McCaffrey named Heisman Trophy finalists
The field of Heisman Trophy candidates has been narrowed down to three.
Alabama running back Derrick Henry, Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson have been invited to New York City on Dec. 12, where one of them will be named the most outstanding player for the 2015 college football season.
Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama

2015 Season Stats: 1,986 yards, 23 touchdowns
The case for Henry: Alabama's bruising running back carried the Crimson Tide on his shoulders and into the College Football Playoff as the No. 2 seed. Henry's 1,986 yards led the FBS, as did his 23 rushing touchdowns. As coach Nick Saban said on Nov. 28, "He's made as significant an impact on this team as any player we've ever had."
Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford

2015 Season Stats: 1,847 yards, eight touchdowns
The case for McCaffrey: Mr. Do-It-All did exactly that - everything - for the Cardinal. His 1,847 rushing yards were second in the FBS, only to Henry, but the sophomore also caught 41 passes for 540 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned both kicks and punts, and threw two touchdowns. The engine for Stanford, McCaffrey broke the single-season all-purpose yardage record previously held by Barry Sanders, and averaged over 250 all-purpose yards per game.
Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

2015 Season Stats: 3,512 yards, 30 touchdowns, 11 interceptions
The case for Watson: Watson engineered Clemson's first perfect season since 1981 and led the Tigers to the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. All season long, Watson beat teams through the air with his arm, and on the ground with his legs. Overall, the dual-threat quarterback accounted for 4,399 yards of offense and 41 touchdowns.
