Davis overcomes sprained ankle, LeBron's 37 to lift Pelicans in OT win

Not even a patented fourth-quarter takeover from LeBron James was enough for the Cleveland Cavaliers in New Orleans on Friday.

The King can thank Jrue Holiday for that.

A 23-point fourth quarter from James erased a double-digit Pelicans lead, but Holiday sent the contest to overtime on a game-tying 3-pointer with eight seconds remaining in regulation.

After James missed a potential game-winner on the other end, Anthony Davis and the Pelicans outscored the Cavs 9-3 in the extra period to snap a four-game losing streak.

James single-handedly outscored the Pelicans 23-21 in a fourth quarter that saw him and Davis trade big buckets down the stretch.

Davis, who briefly left the game after spraining his ankle in the second quarter, finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds, and four steals.

James, meanwhile, poured in 37 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, although the night was not without its struggles for James, who shot 13-of-29 from the field and committed five turnovers.

The Cavs fell to 4-5 on the road, and fell percentage points behind the Central Division-rival Chicago Bulls for top spot in the Eastern Conference.
