DFS: Counterattack - Friday's Top Contrarian Plays

Cary Edmondson / USA TODAY Sports

Here are the top low-ownership plays for Friday, December 4:

PG Jarrett Jack, Nets (at Knicks)

The veteran PG has been great this season averaging 14 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.1 assists.

Despite all of this, a tough matchup across the Manhattan Bridge to face the Knicks' top-10 defense will keep most DFS players away with plenty of other great PG matchups to exploit.

Jack is the quarterback on offense and the teams' only threatening perimeter presence. If the 3 1/2 point underdog Nets wind up trailing in this contest, Jack and his team-leading 1.1 3-pointers made per-game will have to lead the comeback.

SG Tyreke Evans, Pelicans (vs Cavaliers)

In only his third game back from injury and facingthe fifth-ranked Cavaliers defense, Evans will have low ownership on Friday.

The Pelicans wasted no time easing their star SG back into the lineup with a combined 63 minutes played in his first two games. He had a strong showing with 20 points and 10 assists in his first game back and a solid 10-point, eight-assist performance in his second.

Evans is counted on heavily for backcourt offense in New Orleans and his elite passing at his price make him a great contrarian.

SF Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks (at Pistons)

The Greek Freak will be overlooked heavily on Friday due to his matchup against Detroit who allow only 15.3 points to SF (best in NBA) and his three consecutive games without double-digit points.

Milwaukee's last game was a blowout loss against the Spurs where he only played 26 minutes while the previous was a blowout win against Denver where he only played 20 minutes.

He'll surely be back to playing his 33 minutes and Milwaukee will need to feed their leading scorer if they plan on beating Detroit on the road.

PF Thaddeus Young, Nets (at Knicks)

A head-to-head matchup with Kristaps Porzingis and the Knicks' top-10 defense will steer most DFS players away from Young.

The ninth-year player out of Georgia Tech is having the best rebound season of his career, averaging 8.4 per game. His seven double-doubles this season puts him 15th in the NBA, but six of those have come in his last nine games.

The potential of the double-double alone makes him a great GPP option.

C Greg Monroe, Bucks (at Pistons)

It's hard to imagine many DFS players taking Monroe against Andre Drummond and Detroit's top-10 defense.

Monroe will be playing with extra motivation against the organization he was drafted by and spent five seasons with. With at least 14 points in three straight games, the big man has momentum and confidence heading into a game he certainly had circled on his calendar.
