Colts place Ahmad Bradshaw on IR

Indianapolis Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw is being shut down for the rest of the season.

The Colts announced Monday that they have placed Bradshaw on injured reserve and signed free-agent running back Zurlon Tipton.

Bradshaw injured his wrist in Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was experiencing swelling afterward, but the team said X-rays revealed no fractures.

Bradshaw rejoined the Colts last month after spending the first five weeks of the season unsigned. He rushed for 85 yards on 31 carries and caught 10 passes for 64 yards and three touchdowns in six games.

Tipton spent time on the Colts' active roster and practice squad before being released on Nov. 26.
