Carey Price out at least 6 weeks, won't require surgery
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will miss a minimum of six more weeks with his lower-body injury and will not require surgery.
The reigning Hart and Vezina Trophy winner remains out with the ailment he suffered after reportedly stepping on a puck during the pregame warmup before a loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Oct. 29.
Price originally missed nine games, then aggravated the injury in his third game back, a win over the New York Rangers last week.
He'll miss the Winter Classic against the Boston Bruins at Gillette Stadium on Jan. 1 in Foxborough, Mass.
Price is 10-2-0 with a 2.06 GAA, a save percentage of .934, and two shutouts in 12 games.
Mike Condon has filled in admirably in Price's absence, going 8-2-3 with a 2.19 GAA and .916 save percentage in 14 contests.
