Report: Titans could have interest in Chip Kelly if available

A potential reunion between Chip Kelly and Marcus Mariota could be on the horizon if the Philadelphia Eagles decide to move on from their head coach.

USC has interest in Kelly, but the Tennessee Titans may also make a push if he becomes available, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Kelly coached Mariota at Oregon, and there were rumors of him trying to trade up to land the quarterback in the draft.

"Do not discount the Tennessee Titans, especially if Kelly did not want personnel control, which of course would seem to be a huge ask considering what happened in Philly this year," Rapoport said.

The Eagles fell to 4-7 with their Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions, and now enter a tough three-week stretch in which they face the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and Arizona Cardinals.

By the sounds of it, though, Kelly still believes the season is salvageable.

"My understanding is that after the ugly loss to the Lions in front of the entire country, Chip Kelly was despondent, frustrated and feeling the heat for the first time, aware it seems that his job status may actually be in doubt after grabbing all the power this past offseason," Rapoport said on "NFL GameDay."

"That said, he seems intent on fixing this issue, understands that his back is against the wall and is looking at making some possible changes with a little mini-break after the Thanksgiving day game."
