Suns' Chandler out vs. Pelicans due to illness

Godofredo Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Phoenix Suns center Tyson Chandler sat out Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to an undisclosed illness.

Alex Len will start at the five spot in his place.

This will be the first game of the season the 33-year-old will miss for the 7-7 Suns, who are returning home after dropping two of their last three games.

Chandler, who signed a four-year, $52-million contract with the franchise over the summer, is averaging 5.4 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks through 14 games.
