Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman is undergoing concussion protocol, and head coach Dan Quinn seemed somewhat optimistic Monday.
Freeman, one of the league's breakout stars, suffered the concussion Sunday after violently crashing into Indianapolis Colts safety Clayton Geathers, and was taken to the locker room.
"(Devonta) Freeman will go through the concussion protocol this week. He's off to a good start with that," Quinn said during his press conference.
Freeman ran for 764 yards and a league-high nine rushing touchdowns through 10 games.
If the Falcons' burgeoning star can't play Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, Tevin Coleman will receive the majority of carries.
