Antonetti, who will put pen to paper on a contract Monday, was last employed by Stade Rennais between 2009 and 2013.
Among those who were quick to express their excitement was Anthony Modeste, as he played under Antonetti at OGC Nice, the club of which the player is a product. Modeste took to Twitter, writing: "Happy to see Frederic Antonetti on the benches of Ligue 1 ... a manager that brought me a lot at the beginning of my career."
Content de revoir Frederic Antonetti sur les bancs de ligue 1 un entraîneur qui m'a énormément apporté au début de ma carrière 👍🏾😁
