Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer is going out on top ... of his players' shoulders.
Beamer coached his final home game before retirement Saturday, and was carried off the field by his team after it ended. Before that happened, the Hokies nearly pulled off a miracle win over North Carolina, mounting a late comeback to push the game into overtime.
The Tar Heels ultimately prevailed in the extra frame.
