Wheeler takes Byfuglien shot to head at Jets practice

Winnipeg Jets leading scorer Blake Wheeler was injured at practice Friday after being struck in the side of the head by a shot from Dustin Byfuglien, according to Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun.
He left the ice in considerable pain, TSN's Sara Orlesky notes.
"He's going to get checked out... won't know until this afternoon how he feels." Maurice on Wheeler, who was hit with a puck in practice.

Tied for sixth in league scoring, Wheeler is driving Winnipeg's 14th-ranked offense, recording eight goals and 21 points in 20 games. He's hit a bit of a cold spell, though, with a single assist over his last three contests.
An absence, for any amount of time, would be a significant blow to the Jets - a team that's lost six of seven.
