Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad helped Roberto Luongo match a legend in a 1-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night.
Ekblad's point shot with 20.2 seconds remaining bounced off Victor Hedman and beat Lightning netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy for the game-winning goal:
Luongo made 39 saves for the shutout, earning his 407th career win to tie Glenn Hall for eighth place on the all-time list.
It was a better effort than Saturday night, when Luongo allowed four goals in a 5-4 win over the Lightning in Tampa Bay.
