After the Irish got themselves on the board with a touchdown late in the frame, Wake Forest quarterback John Wolford gifted Irish lineman Andrew Trumbetti his first career interception and touchdown.

Trumbetti's touchdown gave Notre Dame a 14-0 lead over the Demon Deacons.
