PHOTO: Capitals pay tribute to victims of Paris attacks
The Washington Capitals offered condolences to the victims of Friday's attacks in Paris with a touching gesture during the playing of "The Star-Spangled Banner" before their game against the Calgary Flames.

A moment of silence was also held at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit prior to the game between the Red Wings and San Jose Sharks.
Security measures at NHL arenas were heightened in the wake of the tragedy, according to a statement by deputy commissioner Bill Daly.
"We have sent an advisory to our clubs to be on heightened alert given today's events in Paris," Daly said.
Over 100 people were killed in a series of attacks on Friday, a French police official told The Associated Press. Bombings outside Stade de France reportedly killed three people during an international soccer friendly between France and Germany.
