Kevin Durant out at least 7-10 days with strained hamstring

The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without superstar Kevin Durant for at least 7-to-10 days before he's re-evaluated.

An MRI confirmed the extent of Durant's injury, the team announced Wednesday.

Durant suffered the injury during Tuesday's clash with the Washington Wizards. He collided with Wizards forward Kris Humphries on a drive to the basket and landed awkwardly on his left leg. Durant sank two free throws before he exited the game and didn't return.

Here's the injury:

Durant downplayed the severity of the injury postgame to ESPN's Royce Young.

"It's unfortunate but it's a part of the game," Durant said. "Can't hang my head, just got to work to get back. I've been here before. It's just a small injury, but I've been here before. I ain't going quit, I'm not going to give up, I'm not going to be upset, it's just a part of the game."

The Thunder have enough talent to weather Durant's absence for a two-week stretch, so the main priority is ensuring the 2014 MVP gets fully healthy. Durant appeared in just 27 games last season and had three surgeries in the span of a calendar year to address a Jones fracture in his foot.

Injuries aside, Durant's off to a blistering start. He's averaging 28.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, and three assists while shooting 50.3 percent from the field, 44.7 percent from deep, and 89.3 percent from the charity stripe, which nearly brings him to the elusive 50-40-90 club.

In the meantime, the Thunder could tab one of Kyle Singler, Andre Roberson, Anthony Morrow, or Dion Waiters to take Durant's spot at small forward. Singler drew the start in the second half of Tuesday's game.
