Raptors' Carroll, Ross will not play vs. Knicks

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors will be without their defensive wing stopper Tuesday evening against the New York Knicks, as DeMarre Carroll sits out a second straight game with plantar fasciitis.

Backup Terrence Ross will also be sidelined as he deals with an injured thumb.

The Raptors (5-2) are losers of their last two games after falling short in Florida against both the Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. Carroll was inactive against Chris Bosh and company as Toronto got outscored 52-29 in the second half to lose 96-76.

Ross recently agreed to a three-year extension with the franchise worth $31 million. He's scored just seven points in four games since signing on the dotted line.

Veteran James Johnson will get the start at small forward for the second time in as many games, as he matches up with Knicks All-Star Carmelo Anthony at the three-spot.
