The son of West Ham co-owner David Sullivan relayed the news earlier in the day, expressing his shock at the tackle that put the 28-year-old Frenchman out of commission.
Sadly payet will be out for about 3 months! Huge miss for the team. How the Everton player didn't get sent off amazes me!! #COYI

Payet has emerged as West Ham's best player following his £10.7-million move from Marseille. Apart from starting all 12 Premier League matches this season, Payet has contributed with five goals and three assists.
Striker Enner Valencia also suffered an injured ankle in the same contest, with tests yet to confirm his prognosis.
